KILN OPERATION
Kiln operation is based on keeping stability. The most important target is to maintain the free lime of clinker within the specific margins.
The aim is to increase production and reduce many different specific ratios such as thermal and electrical energy. However, all the others indicators do no make sense if the desired clinker quality is not achieved and constantly maintained.
To reduce the production of off specification clinker is the most important target for the operators. If the deviation of free lime is lower, we can reach many advantages at the plant such us:
- More safety plant operation
- Lower specific thermal consumption
- Lower specific electrical consumption
- Higher use of alternative fuels
- Lower specific consumption of refractories
- Higher use of additions in cement
All lesson targets in CKS are oriented to keep the clinker quality stability, focus on free lime content and burning zone temperature stability.
